About perso
perso is built by Etienne Gillard, a European entrepreneur and investor. It exists for a simple reason: the public internet lost track of who is real. perso is a social network where every member is a verified human, organizations are verified too, and membership, not advertising, funds the platform, so it answers to its members.
perso is European by design. It runs on European infrastructure and is built around European data-protection rules, including GDPR and eIDAS. Trust is not a feature added at the end; it is the foundation.
Your feed
Your feed, not an algorithm's
On most platforms, you are not the customer. You are the product: your attention is the thing being sold, and a ranking algorithm decides what to show you based on what keeps you scrolling, not on what you asked to see. That is the business model, and the feed is where it lives.
perso is built the other way around. Because members pay a small fee, we work for you, not for advertisers, so we do not need to farm your attention. Your feed reflects that directly: it is strictly reverse-chronological. The newest post from the people you follow appears first, the same for everyone, with no ranking, no scoring, no machine learning, and no "for you" model deciding what rises. A chronological feed ends, on purpose, because we are not trying to keep you here longer than you want to be.
What decides whether a post appears is simple and public: the author is a verified human, the post's visibility setting, and, in your Following feed, whether you follow them. Not follower count, not likes, not who paid, not who is "important." When you are the customer instead of the product, your feed can just be your feed. Who can join?
Anyone who can verify that they are a real person. Each member completes a one-time identity check with perso's verification provider, Didit, by scanning a government photo ID and taking a short selfie for liveness. perso never stores the raw ID images; it keeps only a verified name and an over-18 flag.

perso.social is operated by ACGG Rent, S.L., a Spanish company (sociedad limitada) registered in Madrid, which is the publisher and sole data controller for perso. It is represented by founder Etienne Gillard. perso runs on European infrastructure and is built around EU data-protection law, including GDPR and eIDAS.
